NEA Attorney Referral Program

In addition to providing full legal protection in employment-related matters, the NEA Attorney Referral Program provides legal advice for members on personal matters (determination as to whether the member needs additional legal services).  The cost of this program is paid in full by the NEA for all NEA members.  The program provides each NEA member with two free 30-minute consultation sessions during each membership year (Sept. 1 – Aug. 31). 

In addition, the program will discount 30% of an attorney's normal fee for the following services:

 Wills and Estates

·        Preparation of wills.

·        Assist with estate planning.

·        Provide legal assistance if the member is named the executor or administrator of an estate.

·        Offer legal counsel in guardianship proceedings.

 Real Estate

·        Provide assistance with purchase or sale of residential property.

·        Landlord disputes.

·        Zoning law or property line problems.

Domestic Relations

·        Divorce, separation, custody, adoption, annulment, child support, guardianship, paternity, name changes.

 Consumer Protection

·        Disputes with creditors or finance agencies and proceedings with retailers concerning defective merchandise.

Traffic Violations

·        DUI/DWI

·        Reckless driving.

·        Offenses involving potential loss of license, jail sentence, and financial liability in excess of $50.

The 30% discount does not apply to business dealings, bankruptcies, IRS audit defense, criminal violations (other than traffic violations) in which financial liability exceeds $50.
