For the seventh year, the Wyoming Public Transit Association sponsored its annual bus rodeo competition and workshop in Casper this summer, where drivers from Riverton, Cheyenne, Casper and Jackson competed.
The bus rodeo takes place on one day of the bus driver convention, which offers trainings for drivers that many can’t receive in their day-to-day operations. The competition puts class C and D transit drivers through different driving obstacle courses, as well as a written test.
The rodeo and convention attracted a combination of new and veteran drivers. These events help attendees sharpen their driving skills, and also give folks a chance to network with others from around Wyoming and learn from each other how to perfect what they already do.
