The purpose of the Friend of Education Award is to recognize a person or persons who have demonstrated evidence of exceptional service to teachers, schools, and children.
The recipient of the award shall be presented with a Friend of Education plaque. Nominations for this award may be presented to the WEA Board of Directors and acted upon at any board meeting. Past practice has been that this award is presented during the WEA Awards and Recognition Banquet during Delegate Assembly, but it can also be presented at other times.
For presentation at the Delegate Assembly Awards and Recognition Banquet, please have your nominations, with appropriate information, in to the Cheyenne office one (1) week prior to the January WEA Board of Directors meeting.
Only WEA members are eligible to submit nominations.
The WEA Board of Directors makes the selection on the winners for each year.
