The Green Apple Award is for recognition of members who contribute to environmental awareness. This award will help to strengthen the bond between education and the environment by bringing the efforts of educators to the attention of the public and other educators. This award is open to any WEA/NEA member in the state of Wyoming. The member may self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague. An application is included with this policy.

Applications will be judged in the following categories:

  • A. Creativity of project or activity. (25 points)
  • B. Involvement or connection to education. (25 points)
  • C. Involvement and benefits for school-aged children. (25 points)
  • D. Benefits to the community and state. (25 points)

The application with the highest composite score will be chosen as the recipient. In the case that two or more applications receive the same score, the selection will be made by the consensus of the WEA Board of Directors.

Only WEA members are eligible to submit nominations.

The WEA Board of Directors makes the selection on the winners for each year.

Nominations must be submitted before 5 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026.
